Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus 2 Reveal
The headliner was the world premiere of Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II, the sequel to the acclaimed turn-based tactical game.
This time around, the Necrons join the Tech-priests of Mars as a fully playable faction. Featuring a story by Ben Counter and soundtrack by Guillaume David, Mechanicus II is set to launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
6v6 Multiplayer Mode Confirmed for Space Marine 2
Perhaps the biggest surprise was the first details on Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, the long-awaited follow-up to the beloved 2011 shooter.
In addition to an all-new single-player co-op campaign for 1-3 players, Space Marine 2 will feature the return of the fan-favorite 6v6 multiplayer Eternal War mode.
The multiplayer PvP mode supports epic 6v6 battles, letting you take control of either the traitorous Chaos Space Marines or the stalwart Adeptus Astartes across six different modes like Annihilation, Seize Ground, and Capture & Control.
For co-op fans, there’s also a PvE mode that allows groups of up to three players to team up as Space Marines.
Players can choose from six distinct class types to customize their Space Marine, ranging from the defensively fortified Bulwark wielding a Storm Combat Shield to the sneaky long-range Sniper donning a Camo Cloak.
On top of that, an extensive array of weapons, armor, heraldry, and color schemes provide ample opportunity to make your warrior truly your own.
Players can pre-order now ahead of its September 9th release date.
Space Marine Gets the VR Treatment
Not to be outdone, the Zero Latency VR arcade chain announced Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine VR – Warriors of Avarax, a location-based virtual reality experience putting players in the boots of Space Marines.
It arrives at Zero Latency venues worldwide in October and you can watch the new release trailer below:
