The novel will center around Myrtun Dammergot, a Hernkyn Prospect leader from the Kindred of the Eternal Starforge. Readers will follow Dammergot’s journey as she navigates the complex landscape of the 41st Millennium, where the Kin find themselves at odds with the Imperium of Man.
“‘The High Kâhl’s Oath’ represents a significant milestone for Warhammer 40,000 literature,” said a spokesperson for Black Library. “It’s our first deep dive into the culture, technology, and motivations of the Leagues of Votann.“
The story promises to explore several key aspects of the faction, including:
- The advanced technology of the Votann cores
- The Kin’s perspective on galactic events, such as the Cicatrix Maledictum and the threat of Hive Fleet Leviathan
- The internal dynamics of a Kindred and its relationship with its Hold Ship
- The Leagues’ interactions with other factions in the Warhammer 40,000 universe
‘The High Kâhl’s Oath’ is slated for release on November 1st, 2024. It will be available in standard hardcover and ebook formats, with a Special Edition featuring a distinctive orange and blue cover for collectors.
This release comes at a time of heightened interest in the Leagues of Votann, following their reintroduction to the Warhammer 40,000 tabletop game.
The novel is expected to provide crucial context and depth to this faction, enhancing both the gaming and reading experience for fans.
