How to paint the The Masque set
- Step 1: Prime the Miniature
Begin by priming The Masque with a white or light grey spray primer, such as White Scar or Mechanicus Standard Grey. - Step 2: Base Colors
Using a brush, paint the skin of The Masque with Pallid Wych Flesh. Apply thin layers and ensure full coverage.
For the hair, use a dark color like Abaddon Black or Eshin Grey, carefully painting each strand and highlighting any specific details. - Step 3: Washes
Apply a wash of a pink shade, such as Carroburg Crimson, over the skin to add depth and enhance the ethereal appearance.
Use a black wash, like Nuln Oil, to darken and define the hair, ensuring the details stand out. - Step 4: Highlights
Using a lighter shade than the base color, carefully highlight the raised areas of the skin, such as the cheekbones and brow, with a lighter tone like White Scar. This will add dimension and bring out the facial features.
For the hair, use a lighter shade like Dawnstone to pick out the individual strands and create highlights. - Step 5: Details
Paint the eyes with a vibrant color like Fire Dragon Bright or Fenrisian Grey to create a striking contrast against the pale skin. Be sure to carefully paint the pupils and add a touch of white, like White Scar, for reflection.
Highlight any jewelry or accessories, such as necklaces or bracelets, with metallic paints like Retributor Armor or Runefang Steel to make them stand out. - Step 6: Finishing Touches
Apply a gloss varnish, like Ardcoat, to the eyes and lips to make them appear shiny and lifelike.
For the base, paint it with a color that complements the overall scheme, such as a dark purple like Naggaroth Night or vibrant pink like Pink Horror. Add texture or additional details if desired.
