None can detect its presence until it’s too late, as this master of illusory disguise seamlessly blends into its surroundings, sowing confusion and misdirection. With cunning and skill, the Changeling conceals its true form, ready to unleash devastating attacks upon its unsuspecting foes.

Equipped with the infamous Trickster’s staff, its sinister snake-shaped tip adds an extra touch of malevolence. What sets the Changeling apart is its astonishing array of arms—three of them, to be precise—all concentrated on its left side, poised to unleash blasts of warpfire upon any unfortunate adversary.

Adorned in a cloak that conceals its true nature, the Changeling carries three mysterious scrolls, their secrets known only to this enigmatic being. The figure’s imposing hood shrouds its face, ensuring its identity remains hidden, further adding to the aura of mystery surrounding this creature. Moreover, the Changeling stands atop a captivating display of magical flames, seemingly lifted from its base by otherworldly forces.

How to paint the The Changeling set

  1. Step 1: Prime the Miniature
Start by priming The Changeling using a black or grey spray primer. This will provide a good base for the paint to adhere to and enhance the dark and mysterious appearance of the model.
  2. Step 2: Base Colors
Begin by painting the skin with a light blue color like Calgar Blue or a similar shade. Ensure full coverage over all areas of the skin, using multiple thin layers if needed.
  3. Step 3: Washes
Apply a wash of a dark shade like Drakenhof Nightshade over the skin to add depth and shadow. This will give the skin a more ethereal and otherworldly look.
  4. Step 4: Highlights
Using a lighter blue shade like Lothern Blue, carefully highlight the edges and raised surfaces of the skin to add definition. Apply thin lines along the contours of the model, focusing on areas that would catch the light. This will make the skin appear more vibrant and dimensional.
  5. Step 5: Clothing and Details
Paint the clothing and other details of the model using colors of your choice. For example, you can use Screamer Pink for the robe and Eshin Grey for the wrappings. Apply the colors evenly and with precision, ensuring full coverage.
  6. Step 6: Metallics and Accents
Paint any metallic areas, such as weapons or accessories, using a metallic paint like Leadbelcher or Runelord Brass. Apply a wash of Nuln Oil over the metallic areas to add depth and enhance the metallic shine.
  7. Add additional accents and details using appropriate colors
For example, you can use Screaming Bell for small runes or symbols, or Evil Sunz Scarlet for small gemstones.
  8. Step 7: Finishing Touches
Take a step back and assess your painted Changeling. Make any necessary touch-ups or adjustments to ensure a high-quality finish. Consider adding final details like fine lines or patterns on the clothing or additional highlights on the model to make it stand out.
  9. Step 8: Varnish (Optional)
To protect your paint job and give the model a finished look, you can apply a coat of varnish. Varnishing will also enhance the colors and add durability to the model. Choose a matte varnish for a more realistic and non-reflective finish or a gloss varnish for a more vibrant and shiny appearance.
