Meet Mozrog Skragbad – a true legend among Orks, renowned for his unmatched toughness and belligerence. This fearsome beast hunter once embarked on a daring quest, spending days in self-imposed exile to hunt down the most formidable creatures.

One encounter proved almost fatal, as a monstrous beast devoured him, but true to his indomitable spirit, Mozrog fought his way out and returned to his tribe, adorned with bionic enhancements. In battle, he rides atop the unmistakable pale-skinned squigosaur known as Big Chompa – a creature as cantankerous as its rider.

If your Waaagh! requires a Warboss of unparalleled power, look no further than Mozrog and his loyal mount, Big Chompa, to join your mighty army. With Mozrog’s bionics and Big Chompa’s relentless jaws, no adversary can escape unscathed.

Years of relentless hunting and an unwavering resolve have made Mozrog nearly impervious to damage, allowing him to shrug off wounds that would incapacitate even the fiercest Beast Snagga Orks. How to paint the Mozrog Skragbad set

  1. Step 1: Basecoat Mozrog Skragbad and Big Chompa
Begin by applying the base colors to both Mozrog Skragbad and Big Chompa.
For Mozrog’s skin, use a suitable green shade like Waaagh! Flesh, and for his clothing and armor, use a darker color like Abaddon Black.
For Big Chompa’s scaly skin, use a pale color like Rakarth Flesh, and for its bony areas, use Ushabti Bone. Make sure to paint all the areas of the models that you want to be green, black, flesh-colored, and bone-colored.
  2. Step 2: Add Wash for Depth
To add depth and shadows to both Mozrog and Big Chompa’s skin and clothing, apply a wash of dark brown, such as Agrax Earthshade, over the basecoat. Focus on the recessed areas and crevices to create a more realistic and textured appearance.
  3. Step 3: Highlight Mozrog and Big Chompa’s Skin
Once the wash has dried, use a lighter green shade like Warboss Green to highlight the raised areas of Mozrog’s skin. Concentrate on the nose, cheeks, knuckles, and other prominent features. Use a lighter flesh color like Pallid Wych Flesh to highlight the raised areas of Big Chompa’s skin, focusing on the prominent scales and muscles, as well as the edges of the bones. This will make the skin of both models stand out and add dimension.
  4. Step 4: Highlight Mozrog and Big Chompa’s Clothing and Armor
Use a lighter shade like Eshin Grey to highlight Mozrog’s clothing and armor. Focus on the edges and folds, as these areas would catch more light. This will make Mozrog’s clothing and armor look more textured and detailed. For Big Chompa, use White Scar to highlight its bones.
  5. Step 5: Paint Mozrog and Big Chompa’s Eyes and Teeth
Carefully paint Mozrog’s eyes using a bright color like Yriel Yellow. Paint his teeth with a light bone color like Ushabti Bone. For Big Chompa, paint its eyes using Wazdakka Red and its teeth with Eshin Grey.
  6. Step 6: Detail Mozrog’s Bionics and Big Chompa’s Saddle and Equipment
Pay attention to Mozrog’s bionic bits, such as metal implants or cybernetic limbs. Use metallic colors like Leadbelcher for a realistic look. Detail any additional equipment on Big Chompa, such as its saddle, using suitable colors like Skrag Brown or Abaddon Black.
  7. Step 7: Final Touches and Basing
Add any final details to both Mozrog Skragbad and Big Chompa, such as tribal tattoos, battle scars, or other unique markings. If you wish to base the miniatures, consider using textured paints or materials like sand and rocks. Paint the base with a suitable color like Steel Legion Drab and add some tufts of grass or other decorations for a more dynamic and engaging display.
  8. Step 8: Varnish (Optional)
For added protection and a professional finish, consider applying a layer of varnish. A matte varnish will provide a non-shiny appearance, while a gloss varnish will enhance the colors’ vibrancy.
