How to paint the Hunta Rig set
- Step 1: Basecoat the Rig
Begin by applying a metallic color like Leadbelcher to the entire Hunta Rig. This will create the base layer for the metallic appearance of the vehicle. Use a medium-sized brush for efficient coverage. - Step 2: Apply Black Details
Use Abaddon Black to paint the smaller details on the Hunta Rig, such as spikes, gears, and other mechanical elements. Take your time and use a fine detail brush for precision. - Step 3: Paint the Tramplasquig
For the squig, start by painting the back with a bold red color like Mephiston Red. As you move down the body, gradually transition the color to a flesh tone like Kislev Flesh. Finally, paint the belly with a pale white color like White Scar. This will give the squig a realistic and degrading appearance. - Step 4: Add Highlights
Once the base colors are dry, use a lighter shade of metallic paint, like Ironbreaker, to add highlights to the Hunta Rig. Focus on raised areas and edges to create depth and definition. - Step 5: Highlight the Squig
Apply a thin layer of lighter red, like Evil Sunz Scarlet, to the top of the squig’s back, focusing on the areas where the light would hit. Use a fine detail brush to achieve a smooth blend between the colors. - Step 6: Detail the Orks
Paint the Orks riding the Hunta Rig with green colors, such as Caliban Green, for their skin. Add additional colors for their clothing, guns, and other accessories to make them stand out and add character to the model. - Step 7: Final Touches
Take your time to touch up any missed areas and add any additional details you feel would enhance the overall appearance of the Hunta Rig. Once you are satisfied with the paint job, apply a protective varnish to seal the paintwork and give the model a finished look.
