How to paint the Howling Banshees set
- Step 1: Basecoat
Begin by applying a basecoat to the Howling Banshees’ armor using a suitable color like blue, purple, or bone. Use a medium-sized brush to ensure even coverage. For example, you can use Kantor Blue, Xereus Purple, or Screaming Skull. - Step 2: Metallic Details
Paint the metallic details of the Banshees’ weapons and armor, such as blades and armor trims, with metallic colors. Use a metallic paint like Ironbreaker or Runefang Steel to make these details stand out. - Step 3: Sash and Cloth
Paint the sash and cloth parts of the Howling Banshees’ outfits with a contrasting color. For example, you can use a vibrant color like Mephiston Red or Wazdakka Red to create a striking contrast against the armor. - Step 4: Hair
Paint the hair of the Banshees with a color of your choice. Blonde, brown, or black are common options. Use a small brush to add highlights and shadows for a realistic look. You can use these paints for those hair tones: Hexos Palesun, Balor Brown or Abaddon Black. - Step 5: Fine Details
Add fine details to the Howling Banshees, such as the gemstones on their helmets or decorative patterns on their armor. Use small brushes and suitable colors to bring out these intricate features. Spiritstone Red, Soulstone Blue or Waystone Green are some good options for this step. - Step 6: Base and Basing
Paint the bases of the miniatures to match your desired theme or battlefield environment. Add texture, such as sand or rocks, and paint it accordingly. Enhance the bases further by adding grass tufts or other scenic elements. - Step 7: Varnish
Once you are satisfied with your paint job, protect it by applying a layer of varnish. This will ensure the longevity of your work and protect it from wear and tear. Use a matte or gloss varnish, depending on the finish you prefer. - Step 8: Final Touches
Inspect the models for any touch-ups or corrections. Add any additional details you desire, such as freehand designs or squad markings. Take this opportunity to make your Howling Banshees uniquely yours.
