How to paint the Fiends set
- Step 1: Priming
Apply a thin, even coat of black primer to the Fiends. This will provide a solid base for the paint to adhere to. Once dry, your Fiends will be ready for the next step. - Step 2: Basecoat
Using a medium-sized brush, apply a basecoat of Daemonette Hide to the skin of the Fiends. This will establish the foundation color. Ensure a smooth and even application. - Step 3: Wash
Apply a wash of Druchii Violet to the recessed areas of the Fiends, such as the crevices between muscles and around the face. This will add depth and shadow to the model, enhancing its menacing appearance. - Step 4: Highlights
Using a fine brush, carefully highlight the raised areas of the Fiends with Slaanesh Grey. Focus on the edges of the muscles, the cheekbones, and other prominent features. This will add definition and bring out the details. - Step 5: Eyes and Mouth
Paint the eyes with a bright color like Baharroth Blue, carefully filling in the eye sockets. For the mouth, use Screamer Pink to create a menacing grin. These details will make your Fiends look even more eerie. - Step 6: Armor and Weapons
For the armor and weapons, use a metallic color like Iron Warriors. Apply this to any armor plates, claws, or weapons the Fiends possess. Remember to be precise and neat with your brushwork to bring out the metallic shine. - Step 7: Base
Finish off by painting the base of the model. You can use texture paint or flock to add depth and realism. A mix of Stirland Mud and Astrogranite Debris creates a gritty, desolate look suitable for these creatures. - Step 8: Varnish (Optional)
To protect your hard work, consider applying a varnish to the model. This will safeguard the paint and give it a smooth finish. Gloss varnish will add shine, while matte varnish will create a more realistic look.
