The Dominion Squads bring swift and ferocious firepower to the battlefield, striking with lightning speed to annihilate the enemies of Mankind using storm bolters, meltguns, and flamers, clearing command bunkers, strategic sites, and smashing enemy lines with devastating force. Meanwhile, the noble Celestians, renowned for their unwavering resolve, serve as both inspiring bodyguards and elite champions to the highest-ranking leaders of the Adepta Sororitas, exhibiting their legendary refusal to yield even in the direst of situations.

This versatile kit allows you to assemble a squad of 5 Dominions and 5 Celestians, accompanied by an Incensor Cherub. The Dominions can be equipped with boltguns, and you have the option to arm up to four of them with special weapons such as storm bolters, meltaguns, or flamers, providing a wide range of tactical choices. The kit includes four of each special weapon for maximum flexibility. The Celestians also wield boltguns, with the possibility to outfit two of them with special weapons or have one carry a special weapon while another bears a heavy weapon like a heavy bolter or heavy flamer. Additionally, you can choose to include a model carrying a sacred Simulacrum Imperialis, and the kit provides two variant options for the pole-mounted adornments. Furthermore, the components allow you to build either a Dominion Superior or Celestian Superior armed with a chainsword or power sword, and you have a selection of ranged weapons, including a condemnor boltgun or combi-weapon (combi-flamer, -melta, or -plasma), to further customize your models.

How to paint the Dominions & Celestians Set

  1. Step 1: Prepare Your Models
Begin by cleaning any mold lines or imperfections on the miniatures using a modeling knife or file. Assemble the models according to the instructions, ensuring a secure fit. Attach the miniatures to their bases using plastic glue or super glue.
  2. Step 2: Prime the Miniatures
Apply a thin and even coat of primer to the entire model. This helps the paint adhere better and provides a smooth surface for painting. Recommended primer color: Chaos Black Spray
  3. Step 3: Basecoat
Start by applying the basecoat to different areas of the miniatures. Use Retributor Armor for gold areas, Abaddon Black for black areas, Celestra Grey for white areas, Mephiston Red for red areas, Rakarth Flesh for flesh areas, Zandri Dust for cloth areas, Leadbelcher for metallic areas, and Mephiston Red for red weapon areas.
  4. Step 4: Layering and Highlighting
Using a slightly lighter shade of paint, apply thin layers to the respective areas of the miniatures. This adds depth and highlights. For example, use Liberator Gold for highlighting gold areas, Eshin Grey for highlighting black areas, and Ulthuan Grey for highlighting white areas. Repeat this process for other colors.
  5. Step 5: Details and Accents
Add smaller details and accents to the miniatures, such as eyes, symbols, and insignias. Use paints like Abaddon Black for details, Mephiston Red for small red accents, and White Scar for highlighting.
  6. Step 6: Wash
Apply washes, such as Agrax Earthshade or Nuln Oil, to recessed areas and crevices to create shading and add depth to the miniatures.
  7. Step 7: Bases
Paint the bases of your miniatures using textures, like Astrogranite Debris or Stirland Mud, for a realistic look. You can also add additional details like grass, rocks, or tufts for more visual interest.
  8. Step 8: Varnish
Once the paint is dry, protect your miniatures by applying a varnish. Use Ardcoat or Munitorum Varnish for a glossy finish.
