Dark Apostles, the zealous priesthood of the Dark Gods, hold a significant role within the Chaos Space Marines. Similar to the Chaplains of loyalist Space Marines who uphold their Chapters creeds, Dark Apostles dedicate their lives to spreading the unholy word and actively promoting the worship of Chaos throughout the galaxy. Their devotion is rewarded, as they are surrounded by shimmering and writhing daemonic auras of protection while chanting their blasphemous prayers.
This is a multipart plastic kit featuring three models. Within a Chaos Space Marines army, the Dark Apostle serves as a crucial HQ choice and can be accompanied by a pair of Dark Disciples. Equipped with an accursed crozius and a fell daemonic tome, the Dark Apostle wields formidable tools. On the battlefield, they channel their faith through prayers, beseeching the Dark Gods for their unholy blessings. The Dark Disciples, carrying relics of corruption, provide essential aid to their master’s prayers, further strengthening their connection to the Chaos Gods.
Embrace the power and fervor of the Dark Apostles as they spearhead the propagation of Chaos. With their compelling presence and access to forbidden knowledge, they form an integral part of any Chaos Space Marines force, spreading corruption and twisting the fate of the galaxy to suit the desires of the Dark Gods.

How to paint the Dark Apostle set
- Step 1: Base Coating
Using a medium-sized brush, apply a base coat of black or dark grey paint to the armor of the Dark Apostle. Ensure smooth and even coverage, focusing on the larger areas first. - Step 2: Metallic Details
With a smaller brush, paint the metallic details, such as the trim, weapons, and accessories, with metallic paints like Leadbelcher or Runelord Brass. Take your time to achieve clean lines and cover the desired areas. - Step 3: Cloth and Robes
Using a medium-sized brush, paint the cloth and robe areas with the chosen color. You can use paints like Mephiston Red or Caliban Green for vibrant results. Be careful not to overlap onto previously painted areas. - Step 4: Skin Tone
With a smaller brush, paint the exposed skin areas of the Dark Apostle with a fleshtone color like Kislev Flesh or Cadian Fleshtone. Apply multiple thin coats to achieve a smooth and natural look. - Step 5: Symbol and Details
Using a fine brush, carefully paint the symbols, icons, and smaller details on the armor and accessories. For example, you can use a bright color like Evil Sunz Scarlet or Gauss Blaster Green for eye-catching details. - Step 6: Wash
Apply a wash of Agrax Earthshade or Nuln Oil (depending on the desired effect) to the entire model. This will bring out the details and create shadows, adding depth and realism to the Dark Apostle. - Step 7: Highlights
Using a fine brush, apply highlights to the raised areas of the model. This technique is called drybrushing and can be done by lightly brushing a lighter shade of the base color over the raised surfaces. For example, you can drybrush Ironbreaker over the metallic areas for a worn and weathered look. - Step 8: Fine Details
Take your time to add any additional fine details, such as eyes, tattoos, or weathering effects, to enhance the overall appearance of the Dark Apostle. This is where you can really make the model stand out.
