The Skull Cannons of Khorne embody the terrifying fusion of daemonic essence and infernal machinery, driven by an insatiable thirst for bloodshed and bone-crushing destruction, serving as a testament to Khorne’s relentless pursuit of carnage.

The Skull Cannon of Khorne is a formidable creation, seamlessly melding organic and mechanical elements, adorned with symbols and icons honoring the Blood God. Its imposing form features a large curved frame, resembling a colossal open mouth propelled by barbed cylindrical wheels, exuding both the essence of a living creature and the precision of a war engine. Metal tubes, wires, and pistons intertwine with horns, skulls, spikes, and visceral maw motifs, creating a visually captivating amalgamation. Dominating the structure is a heavily armored cannon mounted atop the main body, accompanied by two chained Bloodletters. This immense weapon showcases serrated plating, adorned with menacing metal skulls and teeth, culminating in a fearsome open maw at its tip.

How to paint the Daemons Of Khorne Skull Cannon set

  1. Step 1: Prime the Miniature
Apply a thin and even coat of primer to the Daemons of Khorne Skull Cannon miniature using a suitable color, such as Chaos Black Spray. This will provide a smooth surface for the paint to adhere to.
  2. Step 2: Basecoat the Vehicle Armor
Start by basecoating the armor of the Skull Cannon with a black color, such as Abaddon Black(you can skip this if you used Chaos Black or a black primer before). Apply multiple thin coats until you achieve good coverage, allowing each coat to dry before applying the next.
  3. Step 3: Paint the Bloodletter Skin
For the Bloodletters standing atop the Skull Cannon, basecoat their skin with a suitable red color, such as Khorne Red or Evil Sunz Scarlet. Apply multiple thin coats until you achieve good coverage, allowing each coat to dry before applying the next.
  4. Step 4: Highlight the Bloodletter Skin
To add depth and dimension to the Bloodletter skin, use a lighter shade of red. For example, if you used Khorne Red, you can highlight with a lighter red like Wazdakka Red or Wild Rider Red. Focus on the raised areas of the muscles and define the edges to create highlights.
  5. Step 5: Detail the Bloodletter Skin
Using a dark wash, such as Nuln Oil or Agrax Earthshade, carefully apply it to the recesses of the Bloodletter’s skin to create shadows and enhance the definition. Be careful not to let the wash pool or gather in unwanted areas.
  6. Step 6: Highlight the Vehicle Armor
To add depth and definition to the vehicle armor, use a dark gray or metallic color. For example, you can use Mechanicus Standard Grey or Leadbelcher to highlight the edges and raised areas of the armor.
  7. Step 7: Detail the Vehicle
Add any additional details to the vehicle, such as painting the chains, spikes, or other decorations with suitable colors like Retributor Armour or Brass Scorpion. You can also add weathering effects or battle damage using dry brushing or stippling techniques.
  8. Step 8: Basing
For the basing, you can create a thematic base representing the realm of Khorne. Use colors like textured paints in dark or earthy tones, such as Stirland Mud or Agrellan Earth. You can then dry brush with lighter colors to bring out the texture and add additional elements like skulls or blood effects.
