The Wave Serpent stands as the primary troop carrier in a Craftworld’s formidable army. Safely shielded within its durable hull and protective force field, it efficiently transports Guardians and Aspect Warriors to any strategic location on the battlefield. With a capacity to carry up to 10 models or 5 Wraithguards and a Warlock, the Wave Serpent proves indispensable for delivering troops to the heart of the action.

How to paint the Craftworlds Wave Serpent set
- Step 1: Basecoat the Hull
Begin by applying a basecoat of your chosen color to the hull of the Craftworlds Wave Serpent. For example, you can use a deep blue like Kantor Blue or a vibrant red like Mephiston Red. Make sure to cover the entire surface evenly. - Step 2: Shade the Hull
To add depth and dimension to the hull, apply a shade or wash like Nuln Oil or Agrax Earthshade over the basecoat. Focus on the recessed areas and panel lines to create shadows and enhance the details. - Step 3: Highlight the Hull
Once the shade has dried, use a lighter shade of your chosen color to highlight the raised areas of the hull. For instance, if you used Kantor Blue as the basecoat, you can highlight with Calgar Blue or Alaitoc Blue. This will make the hull look more vibrant and dynamic. - Step 4: Paint the Details
Next, turn your attention to the details of the Craftworlds Wave Serpent. Use colors like Leadbelcher for metallic parts, Abaddon Black for dark details, and Ushabti Bone for any bone-like elements. - Step 5: Add More Colors
Consider adding additional colors to add visual interest and complexity to the model. For instance, you can use Warpstone Glow for glowing parts, Moot Green for a contrasting color, or Evil Sunz Scarlet for accenting certain areas. - Step 6: Apply Transfers (Optional)
If your Craftworld has any specific decals or markings, you can apply transfers to the model. Follow the instructions on the transfer sheet and use a transfer setting solution to ensure they adhere properly. - Step 7: Paint the Canopy
For the canopy of the Wave Serpent, use a color like Kantor Blue or Khorne Red to create a tinted or reflective look. This will add realism to the model and make it stand out. - Step 8: Base the Model
Paint the base of the Craftworlds Wave Serpent with a suitable color like Steel Legion Drab or Stirland Mud. You can add additional details like rocks, grass, or debris to create a thematic base. - Step 9: Varnish (Optional)
To protect your hard work and give the model a professional finish, consider applying a layer of varnish. A matte varnish will provide a non-shiny appearance, while a gloss varnish will make the colors look more vibrant and reflective.
