Hailing from the treacherous death world known as Catachan, these formidable soldiers possess impressive physical prowess. Trained in the unforgiving art of close combat amidst hazardous terrain, the Catachan Jungle Fighters are not only skilled infiltrators and trackers but also excel at setting cunning traps for their unsuspecting prey.

The Catachans, known for surviving the deadliest jungles on their homeworld, believe that even the most perilous military battles pale in comparison to a day spent navigating their lethal environment. Their unwavering determination, resilience, and unwavering valor make them among the most courageous soldiers within the Astra Militarum, whether deployed for basic garrison duties or embarking on a seemingly impossible assault against an impregnable fortress.

In games of Warhammer 40,000, the Catachan Jungle Fighters serve as a formidable Troops choice for Astra Militarum armies. These warriors offer a high level of customization, boasting five leg and body variants along with seven head variants. They can be equipped with a range of weapons including lasguns, laspistols, flamers, and bladed weapons. Additionally, there is an option to include a vox caster for effective communication on the battlefield. The kit also provides various additional components, allowing you to assemble a Sergeant and personalize your squad to suit your preferred playstyle and narrative.

How to paint the Catachan Jungle Fighters set

  1. Step 1: Prepare Your Workspace
Set up a clean and well-lit area to work on your miniatures. Gather all the necessary tools and paints, ensuring they are easily accessible.
  2. Step 2: Prime the Miniatures
Apply a thin and even coat of Chaos Black spray primer to the Catachan Jungle Fighters. This provides a solid base for the paint to adhere to.
  3. Step 3: Base Colors
Begin by applying the base colors to the miniatures. Use Cadian Fleshtone for the skin and Straken Green for the clothing. Apply thin layers of paint, allowing each layer to dry before moving on to the next.
  4. Step 4: Details and Highlights
Add details to the Catachan Jungle Fighters using different colors. Use Leadbelcher for any metallic areas, Zandri Dust for pouches and belts, and Abaddon Black for weapons. Apply Mephiston Red for bandanas or scarves.
  5. Step 5: Washes
Apply washes to add depth and shading to the miniatures. Use Agrax Earthshade for the skin, clothing, and pouches, and Nuln Oil for the metallic areas and weapons. Apply the washes carefully, allowing them to settle into the recesses to create shadows and definition.
  6. Step 6: Fine Details
Focus on the finer details of the Catachan Jungle Fighters. Use Mournfang Brown for straps and handles, Ushabti Bone for bones or teeth, and Bugman’s Glow for scars or wounds. Use a fine brush for precision.
  7. Step 7: Basing
Paint the bases of the miniatures using Stirland Mud for texture. Once dry, you can add grass, rocks, or other scenic elements to enhance the bases. Steel Legion Drab can be used to paint the rims of the bases.
