How to paint the Broodlord set

1. Step 1: Prime Your Model
   Start by applying a thin, even coat of white primer to your Broodlord model. This will create a solid foundation for the subsequent layers of paint.
2. Step 2: Basecoat the Flesh
   Using a medium-sized brush, apply a basecoat of pale white to the flesh areas of the Broodlord. For example, you can use a mix of Wrack White and Pallid Wych Flesh to achieve a suitable pale tone.
3. Step 3: Highlight the Flesh
   Using a smaller brush, apply a lighter shade of white to the raised areas of the flesh to create highlights. For example, you can use a mix of White Scar with a touch of Pallid Wych Flesh to achieve the desired effect.
4. Step 4: Paint the Carapace
   Choose a suitable purple color for the carapace of the Broodlord and apply it using a medium-sized brush. For example, you can use a mix of Naggaroth Night and Xereus Purple for a vibrant purple shade.
5. Step 5: Highlight the Carapace
   Using a smaller brush, apply a lighter shade of purple to the edges and raised areas of the carapace to create highlights. For example, you can use a mix of Genestealer Purple with a touch of white for the highlights.
6. Step 6: Detail the Claws
   Using a fine-tipped brush, paint the claws of the Broodlord with a vibrant red color. For example, you can use a mix of Mephiston Red and Evil Sunz Scarlet to achieve a bold red shade.
7. Step 7: Paint the Tongue
   Choose a suitable pink color for the tongue and apply it using a fine-tipped brush. For example, you can use a mix of Emperor’s Children and Fulgrim Pink for a vibrant pink tone.
8. Step 8: Add Additional Details
   Paint any other desired details on the Broodlord, such as the eyes, teeth, or other small accents, using suitable colors. For example, you can use a mix of Abaddon Black for the eyes and Ushabti Bone for the teeth.
9. Step 9: Apply Washes
   Apply a wash like Druchii Violet or Nuln Oil to the recessed areas of the model, such as the folds of the flesh or the gaps in the carapace. This will add depth and shading to the model.
10. Step 10: Fine-tune and Highlight
    Using a small brush, touch up any areas that require refinement or correction. Add additional highlights to bring out the details, such as using Pallid Wych Flesh to further highlight the flesh or adding edge highlights with White Scar.
11. Step 11: Base the Model
    Consider adding texture to the base of your Broodlord model to enhance its appearance. You can use texture paints or other materials to create a realistic base, such as Astrogranite texture paint with drybrushed highlights using Administratum Grey.
12. Step 12: Varnish for Protection
    To protect your painted model, apply a layer of varnish using a suitable varnish product. Choose between matte or gloss varnish based on your preference. This will help preserve the paintwork and provide a protective layer.
