How to paint the Boyz set
- Step 1: Prime Your Boyz
Apply a solid base coat of primer to your Boyz models, ensuring a good coverage on all surfaces. - Step 2: Basecoat the Skin
Using a medium-sized brush, paint the skin of the Boyz with a dark green color, such as Waaagh! Flesh. Apply two thin coats for a smooth and even finish. - Step 3: Highlight the Skin
Using a smaller brush, apply a lighter green color, like Warboss Green, to the raised areas of the skin. Focus on the muscles, knuckles, and facial features to add depth and definition. - Step 4: Paint the Clothing
Choose a color for the clothing, such as Mephiston Red for the Ork’s garbs, and use a brush to carefully apply it to the desired areas. Ensure even coverage and apply additional coats if needed. - Step 5: Detail the Clothing
Using a fine-tipped brush, add highlights to the clothing by applying a slightly lighter shade, like Evil Sunz Scarlet, to the raised areas. This will create contrast and bring out the details. - Step 6: Paint the Metal
Use a metallic paint, such as Leadbelcher, to paint the metal parts of the Boyz, such as weapons and armor plates. Apply it carefully and ensure complete coverage. - Step 7: Highlight the Metal
Using a lighter metallic shade, like Ironbreaker, apply highlights to the edges and raised areas of the metal parts. This will create a metallic shine and enhance the details. - Step 8: Add Additional Details
Paint the teeth, eyes, and other small details using appropriate colors. For example, use White Scar for the teeth and Mephiston Red for the eyes. Take your time and be precise. - Step 9: Base the Models
Consider adding texture or scenic elements to the bases of your Boyz for a more immersive look. Use materials like sand, rocks, or Texture paints to create a suitable base. - Step 10: Varnish the Models
To protect your painted Boyz, apply a layer of varnish. Choose the desired finish, such as matte or gloss, and follow the instructions on the varnish can for proper application.
