How to paint the Tzaangor Enlightened set

  1. Step 1: Basecoat
Apply a basecoat of blue paint, such as Macragge Blue or Thousand Sons Blue, to the Tzaangor Enlightened’s skin. Ensure even coverage, and don’t worry about being too precise at this stage.
  2. Step 2: Metallic Components
Use a copper/gold paint, like Brass Scorpion, Retributor Armour or even Liberator Gold to paint the metallic components of the Tzaangor Enlightened. This includes their weapons, armor trim, and any other designated areas. Take your time and aim for smooth, even coverage.
  3. Step 3: Underglow
To create an ethereal underglow effect below the Tzeentch disc, use a green paint, such as Warpstone Glow. Apply this paint carefully beneath the disc, allowing it to blend with the blue skin for a mystical appearance.
  4. Step 4: Wash
Apply a wash of Nuln Oil or a similar dark wash over the entire model. This will add depth to the details and create shadows. Be sure to apply the wash evenly and avoid excessive pooling.
  5. Step 5: Skin Highlights
Using a lighter blue paint, like Calgar Blue, carefully apply highlights to the raised areas of the Tzaangor Enlightened’s skin. Focus on areas such as the muscles, knuckles, and facial features. This will add dimension and bring out the details.
  6. Step 6: Metallic Highlights
Using a lighter copper paint, such as Runelord Brass, add highlights to the metallic components. Focus on edges, corners, and any areas where light would naturally catch. This will enhance the metallic shine and add realism to the model.
  7. Step 7: Eyes and Details
Paint the Tzaangor Enlightened’s eyes with a bright color, such as Flash Gitz Yellow. Use a small brush and aim for a neat, centered dot. You can also add any additional details, such as symbols or patterns, using appropriate colors.
  8. Step 8: Bases
Finish the model by painting the base to complement the Tzaangor Enlightened’s appearance. You can use various techniques, such as dry brushing brown and applying static grass, to create a realistic and immersive base. Get creative here and don’t worry about making mistakes with greens and blues when you paint it, as they will add to the otherworldly look.
