How to paint the Nurglings set
- Step 1: Basecoat the Nurglings
Apply a basecoat of a pale green color, such as Warpstone Glow, to the entire Nurgling model using a medium-sized brush. This will provide a starting point for the overall color scheme. - Step 2: Highlight the Sores and Wounds
Use a smaller brush to carefully apply a lighter green shade, like Moot Green, to the raised areas of the sores and wounds on the Nurglings bodies. This will create depth and highlight the festering nature of their ailments. - Step 3: Paint the Horns and Teeth
Using a small brush, paint the Nurglings horns and teeth with a creamy off-white shade, such as Ushabti Bone. Apply thin layers to build up the color and ensure a smooth finish. - Step 4: Add Details and Accents
Use a fine brush to add additional details and accents to the Nurglings. Paint their eyes with a bright color like Yriel Yellow or Fire Dragon Bright to make them stand out. You can also add spots of Blood for the Blood God to simulate fresh blood oozing from their wounds. - Step 5: Apply Wash for Depth
Dilute a brown wash, such as Agrax Earthshade, with water and carefully apply it to the entire model using a medium-sized brush. This will add depth to the recesses and enhance the overall grimy appearance of the Nurglings. - Step 6: Varnish for Protection
Once the paint is dry, apply a layer of matte varnish to protect the paint job and give the Nurglings a finished look.
