A clandestine and vindictive faction, driven by a relentless determination to evade capture and seek retribution. Hounded by the unyielding pursuit of the Dark Angels and their successor Chapters, these warriors have embraced a merciless nature akin to their pursuers. Some prefer the intensity of close-quarters combat, while others excel in long-range engagements. Regardless of their approach, the Fallen are formidable adversaries, unflinchingly committing dark acts and enduring immense hardships.
This set includes five multi-part plastic Fallen miniatures, accompanied by an upgrade sprue for personalized customization. Additionally, the kit provides abundant spare components that can be utilized to convert other multi-part plastic Space Marine squads into Fallen, further expanding their ranks and potential on the battlefield. How to paint the Fallen set
- Step 1: Basecoat the Miniatures
Apply a basecoat of black paint to the entire model, ensuring smooth and even coverage. This provides a solid foundation for the subsequent layers of paint. For example, you can use Abaddon Black. - Step 2: Highlight the Armor
Using a drybrush technique, lightly apply a layer of dark gray or dark brown paint to highlight the edges and raised areas of the armor. This creates depth and adds a weathered appearance. Consider using Mechanicus Standard Grey or Rhinox Hide. - Step 3: Paint the Details
Carefully paint the smaller details of the model, such as weapons, belts, and accessories. Use metallic paints like Leadbelcher or Balthasar Gold for metallic elements and contrasting colors for other parts, such as red for trim or blue for eyes. - Step 4: Wash the Model
Apply a wash, such as Nuln Oil or Agrax Earthshade, to the entire model. This will darken recessed areas, add shading, and enhance the overall definition of the miniature. - Step 5: Add Highlights
Using a lighter shade of the base color, highlight the edges and prominent areas of the model to create contrast and emphasize details. For example, you can use a light gray or brown color like Administratum Grey or Mournfang Brown. - Step 6: Paint the Base
Finish the model by painting the base. Use texture paints or other materials to create a suitable environment for your Fallen. You can add grass, rocks, or other terrain elements to enhance the overall look. - Step 7: Varnish the Model
To protect your paintwork, apply a coat of varnish. This will help preserve the colors and provide a protective layer. Matte varnish gives a non-shiny finish, while gloss varnish provides a shiny appearance. Choose based on your desired effect.
