How to paint the Canoness Veridyan set

  1. Step 1: Prime the miniature
Before painting Canoness Veridyan, apply a thin and even coat of primer spray to the resin pieces. This will provide a good surface for the paint to adhere to. Use a light-colored primer for better color accuracy.
  2. Step 2: Basecoat the armor
Start by basecoating the armor using a metallic silver paint, such as Leadbelcher. Apply multiple thin coats until you achieve smooth and opaque coverage.
  3. Step 3: Paint the details
Next, paint the various details on Canoness Veridyan’s armor and accessories. Use a fine brush to carefully pick out details like the trim, symbols, and embellishments. For example, use a deep red paint, like Mephiston Red, for the cloth elements.
  4. Step 4: Highlight the armor
To add depth and dimension to the armor, apply highlights using a lighter metallic silver paint, such as Runefang Steel. Focus on raised areas and edges to create a realistic metal effect.
  5. Step 5: Paint the face and skin
Paint Canoness Veridyan’s face and exposed skin areas using a flesh-tone paint, like Cadian Fleshtone. Be careful and use a small brush for better control. Highlight the raised areas with a lighter flesh-tone shade.
  6. Step 6: Add details and accents
Paint the smaller details, such as the purity seals, belt, and weapons, using appropriate colors. For example, use Mournfang Brown for the leather parts and Auric Armour Gold for the metallic accents.
  7. Step 7: Apply washes
Apply a wash, like Agrax Earthshade, over the entire miniature to enhance the shadows and add depth. Ensure the wash flows into the recesses, emphasizing the details.
  8. Step 8: Highlight the details
Once the wash is dry, go back and selectively highlight the raised areas using the base colors. This step helps to bring out the details and make them pop.
  9. Step 9: Paint the base
Paint the base using colors that complement the overall look of the miniature. You can use a combination of earth tones, rocks, and grass tufts for a thematic base.
  10. Step 10: Varnish the miniature
To protect your paintwork, apply a layer of varnish over the entire miniature. Use a matte varnish for a non-shiny finish.
