How to paint the Bullgryns Set

  1. Step 1: Prime the miniatures
Begin by applying a coat of primer to the Bullgryns. Use a spray primer in a color that will serve as agood base for the subsequent layers of paint.
  2. Step 2: Basecoat the armor and shields
Apply a basecoat to the armor and shields using a suitable color. For the armored areas, consider Leadbelcher or Iron Warriors as a base. For the shields, Macragge Blue or Kantor Blue can provide a solid foundation.
  3. Step 3: Apply washes for shading
Use a wash, such as Nuln Oil or Drakenhof Nightshade, to add depth and shading to the recesses and crevices of the miniatures. Apply the wash selectively to areas such as the armor joints, shield details, and other textured surfaces.
  4. Step 4: Highlight the raised areas
Using a lighter color, carefully highlight the raised areas of the miniatures to add definition and bring out the details. For example, Ironbreaker or Stormhost Silver can be used to highlight the edges of the armor plates and the edges of the shields.
  5. Step 5: Paint the details
Focus on painting the smaller details of the Bullgryns, such as the faces, weapons, and accessories. Use paints like Mephiston Red for the eyes, Retributor Armour for the metallic accents, and Agrax Earthshade to shade the skin tones.
  6. Step 6: Finish with weathering and basing
To add depth and realism, consider weathering techniques such as dry brushing or stippling with Ryza Rust or Typhus Corrosion. Apply these to areas that would naturally accumulate dirt or wear, such as the feet, armor edges, and weapons. Finally, paint the bases using suitable colors and add texture, such as Astrogranite Debris or Stirland Mud.
