How to paint the Kill Team: Farstalker Kinband set
- Step 1: Prime Your Miniatures
Before you begin painting, make sure your workspace is ready. Prime your miniatures with a grey primer like Mechanicus Standard Grey. Apply a thin, even coat and let it dry. - Step 2: Skin and Clothing
Start by painting the skin with Death Guard Green. Once dry, shade it with Agrax Earthshade for depth. For the clothing, use Khorne Red, shade with Nuln Oil. - Step 3: Masks and Armor
If there are masks or armor, paint them with Abaddon Black. This will make them stand out. Take your time to stay neat within the lines. - Step 4: Guns and Metallics
Paint the guns with metallic colors like Leadbelcher for gun barrels. Add a touch of Nuln Oil for a realistic metallic look. Keep the gun details clean and sharp. - Step 5: Details and Accessories
Apply edge highlights to the skin using Ogryn Camo and then a finer highlight with Elysian Green. Add highlights to the clothing using Squig Orange. For metallic parts, use lighter metallics like Runefang Steel for highlights. - Step 6: Final Details
Now’s the time to add final touches. If there are any details on the masks or armor, paint them with bright colors like White Scar. You can also paint any small symbols or decorations. - Step 7: Bases
Paint the bases with a texture paint or flocking material. Use a rim color like Abaddon Black to frame the bases. This completes the overall look. - Step 8: Varnish for Protection
To protect your hard work, apply a coat of Citadel Munitorum Varnish. This varnish provides a protective layer to your miniatures. Shake the can well and spray it in a well-ventilated area. Hold the can about 12 inches away from the miniatures and apply the varnish in light, even coats.
