On the TableTop

The Painbosses of the Beast Snaggas have weathered numerous brutal conflicts, emerging as battlefield doctors toughened by the crucible of war. Equipped with an array of cybernetics and armed with a diverse suite of surgical tools and squig-based remedies, they stand ever-ready to replace limbs with sturdier options for heavy-duty krumpin’. Their devoted grot orderlies dart around, adeptly patching up minor wounds and keeping the Orks in top fighting form.

For those Orks finding themselves in the thick of fierce battles, the Painboss becomes an invaluable addition to your Waaagh! With their expertise in dubious painkillers, bionic augmentations, and unmatched Ork know-how, they offer frontline support to your Boyz, ensuring they remain standing and ready to unleash chaos upon the enemy.

What’s in the Painboss box

  • x21 plastic components that make one Painboss and Grot Orderly. The Painboss has a choice of two head options – one with a bare head with a bionic eye, while the other has a crude bucket helmet made from scrap metal.
  • x1 Citadel 40mm Round base.
  • x1 Citadel 25mm Round base.

How to paint the Painboss set

  1. Step 1: Prime Your Miniature
Begin by priming your Painboss model with Chaos Black or any other primer of your choice. This ensures a smooth surface for the paint to adhere to.
  2. Step 2: Basecoat the Model
Apply a basecoat of paint to the Painboss’s skin and armor. For the skin, use a green color like Warboss Green, and for the armor, you can use a metallic silver color like Leadbelcher.
  3. Step 3: Paint the Cybernetics
Next, paint the cybernetics on the Painboss with a bright metallic color like Retributor Armour. This will make the cybernetic enhancements stand out.
  4. Step 4: Add Details
Using a fine brush, add any additional details to the model, such as the surgical tools and squig-based remedies. Use contrasting colors like Rhinox Hide or Ushabti Bone to make these details pop.
  5. Step 5: Highlight the Skin and Armor
With a lighter green color like Skarsnik Green, carefully apply highlights to the Painboss’s skin, focusing on the knuckles, nose, and cheekbones. For the armor, use a brighter metallic color like Runefang Steel to add highlights to the edges and raised areas.
  6. Step 6: Paint the Clothing
Now, paint any clothing or accessories on the Painboss with colors that complement the overall scheme. For example, you can use a brown color like Mournfang Brown for a leather belt or pouch.
  7. Step 7: Paint the Grot Orderlies
If your Painboss comes with grot orderlies, paint them separately using colors like Skavenblight Dinge for their skin and Abaddon Black / White Scar for their clothing.
  8. Step 8: Add Final Touches
With a fine brush, add any final touches to the model, such as the eyes or tattoos. Use contrasting colors to make these details stand out.
  9. Step 9: Varnish and Protect
To preserve your masterpiece, apply a protective layer of varnish over the entire model. This will safeguard the paint job and prevent any damage over time.
