What’s in the Bonebreaka box
- x135 plastic components that make one Bonebreaka. The kit includes options for a big shoota, kannon, killkannon, lobba, zzap gun, deff rolla, grabbin’ klaw, and wreckin’ ball and can alternatively be assembled as a Gunwagon or a Battlewagon.
How to paint the Bonebreaka set
- Step 1: Basecoat the Hull
To begin, apply a basecoat of a medium grey color, like Mechanicus Standard Grey, to the Bonebreaka’s hull. Use a large brush for smooth and efficient coverage. - Step 2: Shading the Hull
Next, use a wash, such as Nuln Oil or Agrax Earthshade, to add depth and shadows to the hull. Apply the wash carefully with a medium-sized brush, allowing it to settle into the model’s details. - Step 3: Drybrush the Hull
Once the wash is dry, use a lighter grey color, like Administratum Grey, for drybrushing the hull. Drybrushing involves lightly brushing the raised areas of the hull to add highlights and texture. - Step 4: Detail the Ork Glyphs and Markings
With a fine detail brush, paint the Ork glyphs and markings on the Bonebreaka’s hull. You can use contrasting colors, like Mephiston Red or Yriel Yellow, to make the markings stand out. - Step 5: Paint the Deff Rolla
For the deff rolla, use a metallic grey color, such as Ironbreaker, as the basecoat. Apply a wash like Nuln Oil to enhance the metallic appearance and add depth to the spikes. - Step 6: Weathering
Add weathering effects to the Bonebreaka for a battle-hardened look. Use a sponge or small brush to apply a mix of grey and brown colors, mimicking dirt and wear on the model. You can also use paints like Ryza Rust or Typhus Corrosion to furthermore enhance this. - Step 7: Paint the Crew
For the Ork crew members inside the Bonebreaka, use Waaagh! Flesh or Warboss Green for their green skin. Use different colors for their clothing, accessories, and details to bring them to life. For example, you can use Mournfang Brown for their clothing and Retributor Armour for gold details. - Step 8: Varnish
Finally, apply a matte varnish, like Stormshield, to protect the paintwork and provide a consistent finish.
