How to paint the Hemlock Wraithfighter set

  1. Step 1: Basecoat the Hull
Using a large brush, apply a basecoat of red paint, such as Mephiston Red, to the hull of the Hemlock Wraithfighter. Ensure an even coverage and smooth application.
  2. Step 2: Shade the Hull
Using a medium-sized brush, apply a shade, like Carroburg Crimson, to the recesses and crevices of the hull. This will add depth and enhance the shadows, giving the model a more realistic appearance.
  3. Step 3: Highlight the Hull
With a fine detail brush, carefully apply highlights to the raised areas of the hull using a lighter shade of red, such as Evil Sunz Scarlet. Focus on edges and contours to create a subtle gradient effect.
  4. Step 4: Paint the Canopy
Using a small brush, paint the clear plastic canopy with a color that represents the spirit stone, such as a vibrant blue or purple. Apply multiple thin layers for a smooth and translucent finish.
  5. Step 5: Detail the Canopy
Using a fine detail brush, carefully paint the details on the canopy, such as the frame and any intricate designs. Use a contrasting color, like White Scar or Stormhost Silver, to make the details stand out.
  6. Step 6: Paint the D-scythes
Paint the two deadly heavy D-scythes with a metallic paint, such as Leadbelcher. Apply multiple thin layers to achieve a smooth and reflective finish.
  7. Step 7: Detail the D-scythes
Using a small brush, pick out the details on the D-scythes, such as the blades and any additional ornaments. For a contrasting look, you can use a paint like Retributor Armor for a gold finish or Balthasar Gold for a bronze appearance.
  8. Step 8: Apply Varnish
To protect the paintwork and provide a uniform finish, apply a matte varnish like Munitorum Varnish to the entire model using a large brush. This will help to reduce any shine and give the Hemlock Wraithfighter a more realistic appearance.
