On the TableTop

The Kustom Boosta-blasta, an exceptional Ork vehicle, embodies the essence of Speed Freeks with its formidable armament and unparalleled speed. This fearsome machine is armed to the grille with an impressive arsenal of guns, blades, and greenskins, making it one of the deadliest vehicles in the Ork arsenal.

With its ferocious speed, the Kustom Boosta-blasta leaves its rivals in the dust, and its heavily armed design is nothing short of absurd. Equipped with a massive turret-mounted rivet gun, this vehicle poses a significant threat to both heavy infantry and light tanks. No target is safe when faced with the devastating firepower of the rivet gun.

In addition to its ranged prowess, the Kustom Boosta-blasta is equipped with burna exhausts, capable of engulfing hordes of enemies in scorching flames at close range. The sheer destructive power of these burna exhausts ensures that any opposition foolish enough to get too close will face a fiery demise.

Should any foes manage to survive the barrage of firepower, the Kustom Boosta-blasta has a final trick up its sleeve. Its spiked ram is perfect for charging into the midst of the enemy ranks, obliterating anything in its path. With this vehicle, victory is assured as the spiked ram relentlessly smashes through remaining obstacles, leaving destruction in its wake.

How to paint the Kustom Boosta-blasta set

  1. Step 1: Basecoat the ork skin
Begin by applying a basecoat of Waaagh! Flesh to the Ork skin areas. Use a medium-sized brush and make sure to cover the surface evenly. This will provide a solid foundation for the rest of the colors.
  2. Step 2: Metallic Parts
Next, use Leadbelcher to paint the metallic parts of the vehicle such as the rivet gun, exhaust pipes, and blades. Apply the paint smoothly, and if needed, you can use a smaller brush for more intricate areas.
  3. Step 3: Burning Flames
To create the fiery effect of the burna exhausts, start by painting the areas with Mephiston Red. Once dry, apply a layer of Troll Slayer Orange, leaving some areas of the red visible. Finally, add a highlight of Flash Gitz Yellow to the edges to make the flames pop.
  4. Step 4: Weathered Look
To achieve a weathered appearance, dry brush the metallic areas with Runefang Steel. This technique will create a worn and scratched effect, adding character to your vehicle. Remember to lightly brush the raised surfaces for the best result.
  5. Step 5: Painting the Body
Start by applying a basecoat of Mephiston Red to the body panels, doors, and hood of the vehicle. Use a medium-sized brush and ensure that the paint is evenly spread across the surfaces. This will provide a solid red foundation.
  6. Step 6: Red Highlights
Once the basecoat is dry, create red highlights on the body by adding Evil Sunz Scarlet to the raised edges and prominent areas. This will give the vehicle a sense of depth and make it visually appealing.
  7. Step 7: Shading and Shadows
To add depth and definition, apply a shade such as Carroburg Crimson or Nuln Oil to the recessed areas and panel lines on the body. This will create a shadow effect and make the red color pop even more.
  8. Step 8: Fine Details
Take a smaller brush and use a lighter red shade, like Wild Rider Red, to paint fine details such as trim, edges, and any intricate designs on the body. This step will bring out the smaller elements and add further visual interest.  Also, you can paint the teeth of the Ork’s with Ushabti Bone, and the eyes with Yriel Yellow or Flash Gitz Yellow. These small touches will bring your model to life.
  9. Step 9: Metallic Touches
To complement the red body, go back to the metallic parts you previously painted (Step 2) and touch up any areas that may have been accidentally covered with red. Use Leadbelcher or Ironbreaker, depending on the desired effect, and carefully paint over any necessary areas.
  10. Step 10: Final Touches
Inspect the model and make any necessary touch-ups or corrections. You can also add additional details such as glyphs, Ork clan symbols, or weathering effects with a sponge or a dry brush technique using Rhinox Hide or Typhus Corrosion.
  11. Step 11: Basing
Enhance the presentation by basing your model. Apply texture paint or flock to the base and paint it with colors that complement your Kustom Boosta-blasta. For example, use Armageddon Dust as the base color and dry brush with Mournfang Brown for a desert-like effect.
Lastly, apply a varnish to protect your model. We recommend Stormshield, for a matte finish.
